Eau de nothankyou

Getting perfumed, or scented litter might seem like a good idea to you, but your cat probably won’t agree. Your cat’s sense of smell is significantly stronger than yours — about 40 times greater — and some scents, like citrus, can be offensive to cats. So, while your cat definitely wants — and needs — you to keep their litter box odors in check, they’re likely to be irritated (and even driven away from their boxes) by the fragrances in some scented litters or litter box cleaning products. Battle litter box odors with daily scooping, good air circulation, and adsorbent charcoal … not scented litters.
