Paper shredders pose a serious injury risk to cats. Curious or unfortunately placed paws and tails can shred just as easily in some machines as paper does. Be safe — keep your paper shredder unplugged. If you do keep it plugged in, always keep it in the “off” position, never “standby” or “automatic.”
