Kittens can be quite squirmy, and they don’t yet possess the dexterity and balance of their future adult selves. Their bones are also quite fragile. Sadly, many a kitten has suffered a broken leg (or two) after falling, jumping, or inadvertently being dropped from their people’s arms — and this is especially true when young children are involved. Always hold young kittens very carefully, and only let young children hold a small kitten when they are sitting on the floor.
