Though they may not travel in cars as often as dogs, cats still do (and should) go for rides. Of course, they need to be safely restrained and properly acclimated when doing so. Restraint makes car rides safer — for your cat, as well everybody else in the car and on the road. Acclimation makes vet visits, road trips, and all other car rides, easier and less … shall we say … “vocal.” So, get your kitty used to their carrier (see Tip #40) and start taking them for short, fun, “practice” car rides now.
