Roll out the carpet

For senior dogs, especially those with joint issues, weakened muscles, or neurologic conditions, there is always the concern of them slipping and falling on hard or slick surfaces. These spills can result in trauma to their muscles, ligaments, tendons, and even worse, a broken bone or ruptured disc.

So, roll out non-slip carpet runners, yoga mats, or anything that provides a secure, slip-free surface so your dog can confidently walk. Not only do they help prevent slipping, but they also provide some padding on hard surfaces. Place runners or mats along the pathway your dog typically uses daily. Invest in some carpet grippers or stickers to place under your carpets or mats. These tend to work better than the full-size carpet pads.
