Senior Dog Comfort & Care

New and novel

While routines are important for emotional stability, behavior, and health, new experiences are equally essential to prevent boredom. Variety truly is the spice of life! Find ways to make each day a bit more interesting for your senior dog.

Rotate your dog’s toys and chews throughout the week. Use a different work-to-eat food puzzle for each meal. Try out new treat flavors. Release your inner child and blow bubbles for your dog – there are even bacon or cheese-flavored bubbles available. Fill up a kiddie pool with toys or balls. Build a sand dig pit for your dog.

Check out new dog-friendly stores in the area together (if your dog does well and enjoys this). Stuck in the same old walking route? Switch it up by walking the loop backwards or taking a path less traveled. It can be fun to give your dog a choice to see which way they’d like to go when you reach a corner or crossroad. Instead of starting from home, buckle up your pup and drive to a different neighborhood for a change.
