Dogs who have a tough time getting around or get tired easily shouldn’t miss out on the environmental enrichment fun. Depending on their size, you can invest in a dog backpack or sling to carry them on longer walks or hikes. If you have a larger dog, consider a dog stroller or wagon for them to ride in. If you like to go on bike rides, you can bring your senior pup along with special baskets or carriers — just don’t forget the doggie helmet and goggles for safety!

Field trips don’t need to be fancy; they just need to provide new sights, sounds and smells. You can drive to a new place and sit with your dog in the car with the windows rolled down or on a picnic blanket while you both take in the nature around you.
