Short and sweet

Want your dog training to be fun and effective? Then keep it short and sweet! It’s better to do more 1-minute training sessions throughout the day than try to pack it all into an hour-long session. These shorter sessions are ideal for senior dogs who may get sore or frustrated more easily.

Keep jars of treats and kibble throughout your home so they are always easily accessible. This way, you can take advantage of little moments throughout the day where you can activate your dog’s brain.

Easy training opportunities:

  • While you’re waiting for food in the microwave or for water to boil on the stove
  • During a commercial break
  • Add in two minutes of training at the start or end of your regular walk
  • Before you give your dog their full meal, grab a handful of their food to use as rewards for a quick training session
